Oak Staircase Cambridge

Our client required a more modern  oak staircase in Cambridge to replace his dated enclosed flight as part of his renovation work.   The plan was to have an open hallway with a oak floor and he need a stair to match.   Our floating oak staircase was the perfect solution and matched the floor perfectly.

L Shaped Riser Infills

Separate riser infill pieces are included as standard with the floating timber staircases yet this client upgraded to the integrated L shaped treads.  These reduce the gap between to the treads to less than 100mm whilst giving the impression of a thicker tread when ascending and providing a L shape detail when viewed from the side.

Timber Spindles

Whilst the default and most popular spindles on the WF floating oak staircase are brushed or polished stainless steel, these can also be provided in the same timber as the stair.  Given there was no other stainless steel in the area around the staircase our client was keen not to add a different material into the mix and went for the matching oak spindles to infill the balustrade.

Matching Landing Balustrade

To protect the stairwell void, we supplied just over 4 metres of matching landing balustrade.  This consisted of the same 20mm diameter spindles and the 160 x 42mm handrail of the staircase.  Our client requested that all the timber was oiled in the factory to gain a match the surrounding floor and doorframes.
