Cantilevered Staircase
Many clients contact us with a cantilevered staircase in mind for their house. Like this client in Leicestershire, many opt for our floating timber staircase when they understand the cost and complications involved with a true cantilevered stair. Our timber stair does not require any supports in the wall and can bolt directly to the plastered and painted surface. Not only it is around 1/4 of the cost, is much easier stair to measure and assemble.
Oak floating Staircase
This flight was supplied to a specialist property developer in Market Harborough who was building several bespoke houses. It was supplied in solid oak with a swooping handrail down the inner side of the 90 degree turn. The timber was factory oiled before dispatch to enable a match to the new doors and floor.

Landing Balustrade
In addition to the actual staircase we supplied a run of matching landing balustrade to protect the stairwell void. This consisted of a matching handrail, a 42 x 42mm floor rail into which the brushed stainless steel spindles sat. Newel posts on the landing were 80 x 80mm with a 1/3 of the post extended at the bottom to achieve a horizontal fixing into the joist.
Technical Drawings
All our floating timber staircases are custom made. The height and depth of each model is unique and has to be carefully plotted before any production can take place. As standard, 3-D visuals are created as well as a plan drawing to ensure the opening and entry and exit points are correct.
